**Sappy Cheez Alert** (you’ve been warned!)
Yesterday was our 2nd Anniversary. {Happy Anniversary, darlin’!}
Have I told you that I love this man?! He makes me very happy. I have so enjoyed builidng our life together, attempting to figure out what the future holds for us, creating a little tiny farm and a loving, welcoming home. I am not going to sit here and tell you it’s all been happy roses and sunshine, but I have thoroughly enjoyed being married to him for these last two years. Marriage is hard, any relationship is hard, but at the end of the day, if you give back even a little of the love you receive from the universe, you have done good, right? I think we done good, baby.
He doesn’t often let me take photos of him, but alas, I still try, stealthily, that is…
To celebrate this little milestone, we had a lovely dinner at Chez Nous right here in Lee, which reminded us of our fantastic honeymoon in Montreal two short years ago. We had some delicious food, of which there are even a few leftovers, and some great wine and some lovely conversation and general loveyness.
My wonderful Mom gave us this little gem of a book as an Anniversary gift:
“A Short Guide to a Happy Life” by Anna Quindlen, which I just read cover-to-cover. What a happy little book, with some lovely photos and all-around goodness. Thanks, mom!
This passage really spoke to me:
“Get a life in which you are generous. Look around at the azaleas making fuchsia star bursts in spring; look at a full moon hanging silver in a black sky on a cold night. And realize that life is glorious, and that you have no business taking it for granted. Care so deeply about its goodness that you want to spread it around . . . All of us want to do well. But if we do not do good, too, then doing well will never be enough.”
You should probably buy this book. If you’re anything like me, reading it will instantly make you feel happier, lighter, and more joyful.
Happy Wednesday, this 8th day of October 2008. Enjoy it!

L&J… what more can I say, but congratulations? My heart to the both of you at your 2-year mark — I can’t think of two more fantastic people… people that are incredibly generous with their home and time… crafty, farmy, kind, loving friends.
