I just had to share this little musical discovery I’m loving with y’all, hoping you will then go out and get yerself a copy;
“Winter Songs” from The Hotel Cafe (a seemingly awesome music venue in LA, who also do a tour) is FANTASTIC!! Original recordings and some fun old holiday tunes sung by a wonderful lineup of contemporary female singers! Whoo-hoo for the ladies! (I mean, I love Bing and all, but come on, it’s about time!)
Artists include Ingrid Michaelson, Meiko, KT Tunstall, Sara Barielles, Brandi Carlile and Fiona Apple! AND 50 cents from every purchase plus at least 60 cents from every download of their medly of “Auld Lang Syne” will be donated to Susan G. Komen for the cure. Couldn’t be better!

We actually heard a bunch of these performed at the Radio Alice Christmas Concert a few weeks ago.
Needless to say, Ariel and I both fell immediately in love with Lenka, and really enjoyed Sara Bareillis and Ingrid Michaelson as well!
After Sara and Ingrid duet’edn their song from this album… they gave each other a kiss on the cheek and as Ingrid left the stage, Sara said, “NO WE DID NOT MAKE OUT. Stop you Blogging! Stop it now!” And my heart went pit-a-pat…

Did we meet at Squam? I happened across your blog and was really enjoying it and then I saw you mention Squam. Well, first I saw #25 on your “grateful ‘08″ list and thought, what a cool person! We must have met, because I was in the Editorial illustration class too. Well, hopefully, we will meet again at Squam 2009!
